EGT Sensor Kaput?

Going for my remap soon so ive been on VCDS looking for any issues that might screw me over come remap day, noticed my EGT sensor is reading 1110degrees with the engine off. When the engines running it seems to be reading correctly, ie after a drive and sat idling for a minute it was at 550 and slowly falling the longer i sat there, which seems ok to me?
