I bought my dear little audi with what I thought was a simple issue, a rough idle that I thought could be solved by replacing the injector loom or engine mount. It has now had.....
INJECTOR LOOM
HYDRAULIC ENGINE MOUNT
CAMBELT, TENSIONERS, PULLEYS, WATER PUMP, THERMOSTAT.
TEMPERATURE SENSOR
CAMSHAFT, BEARINGS AND FOLLOWERS, RECONDITIONED INJECTORS.
EGR DELETE.
MAF CHECKED.
it's running a lot better but is still losing power at the bottom end of the rev range, I.e. Below 1800 rpm it's idle is a lot better than it was but still not as smooth as other 1.9tdi engines I have encountered and it has about 5 seconds after it starts where it coughs a little before finding it's rhythm.
Above 1800 it has power with no hesitation up to the red line...it's had a new turbo and a new clutch and dmf but not in my short ownership.
It's been fixed by an audi specialist who have gone out of their way to try and get it sorted... And tried everything.
The only thing that hasn't been changed is the tandem fuel pump. Which doesn't have any leaks.
They say the only thing they can see that's wrong is a value for the injector control which seems to suggest the injectors that are all working appropriately are getting over fuelled possibly by a dodgy remap in its past. They've sent me to a local remapping specialist to get this checked out but I'm spent out and stressed out and don't know what to do.
Any help is much appreciated...I am based in deepest darkest west Wales. The car has done 150k by the way
