The trouble I'm having is it doesn't recognise the track info from the iPod.

No it's not MMI. You won't get ant track info, all you is a basic CD-Changer interface on the B7.

is the ipod showing as connected to the system, can you see the tracks on your DIS on the dash, you should be able to control it from your mfsw.

It's not called mmi, it's called AMI and no you don't have it, you have basic iPod dock which doesn't display track info on screen or the dis
It's Basicly a cd emulator, track 1, track 2 etc etc
