Newbie to this web-site. DRL help ?

Hi guys,

Im new to this.

I have a question regarding DRL lights. I have installed them. However i need to wire the live feed to a ignition source and not to the battery. I wired it to the battery live however they will not turn off properly. So i need to run it to a ignition source. Is there a easy fit to wire the live to a ignition source in the engine bay.

My car is a 2.0 TDI 2007 A3 8p 3 door sports

But you have fog lights! I would have just enabled the fog light DRL function and saved the hassle of wiring some other type of DRL. Saying that, You could enable it and the run the DRLs into the fog lights somehow, That way when you switch the lights on the DRLS will turn off etc.

Great idea i saw a way to enable fogs as drl using vcds. I think this what i am going to do.

That's what I did with my A3, If you can get some decent fog bulbs or LEDs it can look smart and everything works the way it should so no issues come MOTs!
