Not sure if it's just my unit that does this, or they're all like it?

Whether radio or Mp3, when slowing down for say traffic lights, the sound lowers itself slightly....

And when playing Mp3's, even though there's loads on the SD card, and all play on laptop, only half show up as playable files on the RNS-E?

Any idea please?

The sound is called gala self regulates dependant on road noise, setting in the RNSE to turn it off or adjust it.

What RNSE you got the one with tv button or the media one?

thanks.

Tv mate.

settings on the unit, or VCDS? as I don't have that.

ok tv one can only read 4gb cards
The gala feature isn't on this unit either, vcds can alter it.

Usually Mp3s don't show up because there is an 'invalid' character in the file name. Typical examples would be an & and maybe a '

I had quite a few with & and once replaced with the word and they showed up.

Mines the later Mk2 RNSE and it had a £ in the title played ok

Our mk2 units are miles more forgiving. The older one with CD/TV button is a right pain the backside, if everything isn't just as it wants it won't play.
