Recently changed my tuning box from a dtuk to a jb stage1. I am just wondering how anyone finds theres and also if they have had theres on a dyno yet?

Thanks.

What have you found? I'm thinking of going down the same route.

Word is that it deals with the lean AFR issue better, but I've no conclusive evidence of this.

I wasn't very happy with the JB1 after I had fitted it to my S1, so I sold it.

My thoughts are documented here.

i m running JB1 from last month, so far its running good but did not dyno yet

Where do you get these from ?

Burger Motorsports

or there is a UK agent, AP, but costs slightly more

I'm stuck, no idea which unit to purchase.....

Im really happy with it feels a lot smoother than the dtuk had mine on the dyno with the dtuk on made 355bhp but graph dropped at around 4K, so up to now it's all good

Well, from what I understood JB is also connected to the fuel sensor that DTUK does not.
And also you have the possiblity to tune it your self a bit. Connect the "box" to your computer and change some settings.
Should work with different fuel types/quality and aftermarket downpipe, intake (it think).

And also possible to upgrade firmware by yourself.

So, I'm might actually go for that. Or wait for the coming JB4 (no date yet)

From what I have been told the jb4 is just an extra wiring piece that you can buy when its released to add on your jb1.

It got 4 sensors boost pressure, fuel rail pressure , cams timing and other one on the manifold for fuel or air intake temp. Also this jb1 is beta version which can be upgrade to jb4 once its launch, the single wiring connect thru jb1 box thru obd2 plug.

Ok, thanks for that information. So it should be ok to buy the JB1. :)

yes, its safe to use....the problem is i didnt have any choice for flash tune so i went for piggyback. so i got racechip before jb1 but tht was throwing EPC lights everytime i pressed full accelerator, then i saw this jb1 on golf gti mk7 forums and it was getting popular due to price and easy to use/remove. Been using this from last month so far no problem and the only thing m worried about the gearbox is dsg7 spd not strong as dsg6 spd

Made a great deal of difference for my 2.0T. Have now Downpipe and Exhaust and this is as fast or faster than a stock S3 which is pretty good considering I shaved roughly 1.3+ seconds. Have not noticed a decrease in gas mileage either even with me driving it fairly harder (more in sport mode now).
