Hi, anyone with a 1.8 tfsi able to check an engine noise for us,
on mine there is a slight whine when revving when in neutral and moving, mostly up to 3k do they all do this,
also does sound a bit like a diesel, getting worried it may be timing tensioner, car is on 80k , brought at 75k

I get a whine in 1st gear, But, Don't much care for it

Also there known for sounding like diesels, It will be the tensioner. Mines a 2L tfsi and does the diesel rattle, I know it's the tensioner that's gone, can replace it or not. Up to you, Am going to leave mine till about 100k. Not really that worried about it :B
