Getting my wheels refurbished and currently on 225/35. Have the opportunity to get some new rubber on two wheels but wondering if it's worth getting 235 or 225 tyres on premium manufacture.

If I was to get wider or better makes, better to get them on the fronts or back? I assume fronts as for grip and etc.

May well be off use

A couple of points to consider.

Wider tyres do not necessarily equal more grip. They do equal a change in the shape of the contact patch though. It will be 10mm wider, but correspondingly narrower. (All other things remaining unchanged.)

Wider tyres do make a change to the look of the wheel, since side profile also increases. Unless you go from a 35%to a 30% profile, the wheel will look a little larger. If you like the look of 'rubber bands' then stay as you are.

The increase in width will subtly alter the ride and handling. On the same sized rim moving to a wider tyre will tend to introduce more compliance to the ride, whilst reducing some of the more 'sporting' character.
