That's the most specific info I've yet seen. Well done.I've got an S3 on order and my dealer has told me it looks like ill be getting the facelift. He sent me these two documents with info on the facelift.
Lol ... Yes you are amazing ....
The pre-facelift A3 is/was OK. The facelift A3 is OK. It's only a car after all, albeit a very nice car to own. I don't need a technology pack or virtual cockpit or super sports seats so I won't be paying out for them but as the price has stayed basically the same, except when Audi added the Navigation as standard in October 2015, since August 2014, I will be happy to pay a 'reasonable' increase in the basic models and then choose what if anything else I want to pay for. At least a lot of the new goodies will be options and I have the choice if I want to pay for them. Far better than everything being standard and the basic price rising accordingly. UK cars come with far more kit on them as standard that the German version where they sell as very basic models with lots and lots of options where again you pay for what you want.As a Existing owner,I couldn't l live with the same interior without adding that £2000 and upwards technology package incorporating the visual cockpit, l would need something new looking....plus add the Expensive rock grey super sport seats.... The list goes on....it's the new technology from the TT and A4 that's the biggest changes again optional equipment that's the only new things about the A3, the S3 gets a 7 speed stronic gear great it needs it
In the other threads everything l stated about the facelift including order, builds, delivery where all correct and l also stated the RS3 would not get a the facelift alongside the A3/S3..... Somebody owes me £10...lol
yeah in your opinion is just OK..enough to shell out £15/20k for???
Think about what you have typed. The 3 cylinder engine will weigh significantly less than the 4 cylinder engine thus making the car lighter. The thing I laugh at is a 1.0tsfi in a heavy car. I wait the raft of poor MPG posts in the near future
Up 5.5%, With inflation that's grown by about 2.5%, with rather a lot of previously paid for stuff on the car as standard. It's not that bad, and if you really don't want them, then perhaps its not the right car? That's a £1100 price increase on the Base price....granted you are getting more included, but you might not want them
My wife took a test drive of the 1.0 3-cylinder engine in an A1 and found it rather gutless. She bought a 1.2 TSI Polo instead and says it goes much better for what she wants.
The S3 and the more powerful A3s have always used the 6-speed wet clutch dsg. As far as I know there have never been a 6-speed dry clutch version. The existing 7-speed dry clutch is used in the less powerful models. The 7-speed wet clutch to be used in the S3 and more powerful A3s is a new version. The dry clutch models tend to be lighter but cannot handle the torque generated by the more powerful engines which is where Audi choose to use the heavier wet clutch version. The only real disadvantage of the wet clutch versions is that the oil has to be change every 40k miles.if i am reading the post write the s3 facelift comes with the new wet 7 speed dsg as the old 6 speed dry clutch !!
Is this a better gearbox? What are the pros and cons, any ideas please!! is this the same unit as in the rs 3 as the reviews on that don`t seems happy with the way it behaves??
Yes it is but the Polo she bought is only 90bhp but goes much better and we both found the ride in the Polo was better than the A1. Whether the extra BHP in the A3 1.0 with make a difference I don't know after all the A3 is quite a bit bigger and heavier than an A1. Her previous car was an A1 1.6TDI which she liked but did not want another diesel as she only does 5k miles a year.Isn't the 1.0 in the A1 only 95bhp and the 1.0 in the A3 going to be 115bhp? So more power yes?
Quite so;It'll be the torque that makes the difference, not the power...
In the ford focus the 1.0 engine hits the 0-62mph in 11 seconds so I guess the A3 will be similar, although the A3 is lighter thus it might feel a little more 'nimbly', I guess though if you are looking at this engine performance isn't the first criteria...Yes it is but the Polo she bought is only 90bhp but goes much better and we both found the ride in the Polo was better than the A1. The ride quality was more important in our case and the Polo was much better than the A1. If my wife wants a drive in a go with a bit of go she takes mine for a drive. The Polo also worked out a lot cheaper per month than her previous A1 1.6 TDI and because of the short journeys not much different in fuel consumption. In the ford focus the 1.0 engine hits the 0-62mph in 11 seconds so I guess the A3 will be similar, although the A3 is lighter thus it might feel a little more 'nimbly', I guess though if you are looking at this engine performance isn't the first criteria...

No, sorry, don't like and would never buy an S-Line. The Sport with options is the right car for me.l resent that remark....lol no mate you have got me all wrong,my point being its the same car...it is....bar a grill and a rear diffuser,l will go for a more expensive car...price is not in question....now kindly go about your business and buy a face lifted s-line
That's the problem with trying to be a "premium" brand, you have to make everything a bit more pricey or everyone suddenly realises you've been flogging them little more than several thousand pounds worth of extra badge over the Spanish runabout you've also been flogging with 90% of the same bits at 70% of the price. When a Ford Focus is knocking on the door of £30 grand the traditionally more expensive brands have to step the game up and be even more pricey to retain the elitist badge snobs they've fought so hard to attract. Hence we see derivatives of the Mercedes comedy prat fall A class at £50k.
If they don't up the price, then suddenly it's not "premium" anymore, and we all buy one of these instead.

What percentage inflation has there been since the last price increase (bar the one that added navigation) in August 2014. Surely that must come in to the equation as well. It's like a lot of things though the price is determined by what the customer will pay and personally I don't see the price increase for the facelift making a lot of difference to number of A3/S3s sold.
Nah, too much trouble. I always get a good trade-in (50-55% of the new price) from the salesman (now Specialist Sales Manager) that I have been dealing with for the past 18 years and nine A3s. I always get a 9-10% discount on the new car as well so I'm quite happy and I will again be quite happy when I do buy my new facelift A3. The only question at the moment is whether it will be the same 2.0TDI-184 - s-tronic - quattro that I have at the moment or the new 2.0 TFSI - 190 - s-tronic - quattro. A day with each will no doubt tell me although the 2.0 TDI won't be available for another 6 months, which as my current car is just 2 years old will work out about right. You stick with your Sport model Designation....and fire on all the options you want...but do yourself a favour dont trade YOUR CURRENT CAR into to Audi....sell it privately...

Ah but your too young to know about these things - perhaps when you are a little older!!!
Everyday is a school day. I never realised that a U-shaped air intake emphasied sporting prowess!
