Under bonnet lagging

An weird question for people today I've managed to damage the under bonnet lagging on my s3 and I'm thinking about ripping it out but I know k04's make a lot of heat so how much damage would I do to the paint work or bonnet if I left it out? Is it worth buying a replacement?

The insulation that is on the underside of the bonnet? Shouldn't make any difference in my opinion.

Its sound insulation not heat management if you mean the piece attached to the underside of the bonnet

Yeah that's what I mean ok I'll just rip it out

It's fine to remove it, Infact it will help with heat dissipation, if you also remove the front and rear bonnet seals, airflow over the engine will help hot air escape.
