I bought a 2010 audi a3 sportback 1.6 technik petrol in December 2015 and put through MOT in jan no problems. I bought it with 32k on the clock today it's 43k and service light says due in 500mile

Audi have quoted me
£309 service
£59 break fluid change
£475 timing belt.

Car is running great no problems all I've done is put new tyres all round and front pads on it in 9 months.

Should I just price around local garages to get a service cheaper and does it really need timing belt yet at 43k miles

Wouldn't advise going to Audi they charge a fortune. Go to your local Audi specialist, they will be much better. I believe it's recommend to change the belt at 75k/5 years so id advise you get it done.

How much should I expect to pay for a service which includes all fluid changes? I've never brought a car for service before this is my first car.

Do I just go around garages and see how much they charge?

Yeah just search around in your area for an Audi/VAG specialist and get some prices.

I am unsure of the full cost as I usually take mine to my local Audi specialist, provide the oil and oil filter get them to do the oil change and get the stamp in the book. Then if it's a full service I would do the rest myself and put the invoices in the booklet.

Just had my one serviced at my local indy last week, nothing major, just oil and filters.
Last major one was at 80,000 and it was £360, all filters, plugs and that's a V6.

Most Audi dealers price match if you can get a written quote off a garage.

Tho my local audi dealer I asked them if they do me a good price on a minor service on my S3? £169 inc VAT which I thought was not too bad. Think the cheapest I could find it from a independent was £150

Where are you based? Folks might be able to give you independent recommendations.
£309 excluding spark plugs (which it will given its Audi) is probably £100 more than you can get it done elsewhere, by people equally/more than qualified than Audi. My VAG specialist independent in Hull charged less than that and included spark plugs.
I also bought the oil online which they used and saved myself another £30 or so.
