2001 S3 AMK MAF question

Hi,

I have just bought a new Bosch AFM - part no 986 280 218 9B9 - When putting on, noticed the old one was part No 06A 906 461 MX - is my new one the correct one as in my simple mind there should be only one correct one??

Strangely so is the one I bought with no X on the end.

Dealer ones tend to all be X suffixed... ones from GSF etc vary

First number is the Bosch part number.
Presume you bought this from a factors andrew page GSF etc etc

Second number is the VAG part number so indicates it been bought from a dealer / TPS

As Tuffty said MX is an exchange unit.
