Are these turbos on eBay rubbish?

Are these Audi s3 ko4 turbos any good?

If you have a look they are about £180 - £220 for a new turbo with 2 years guarantee with them so surely they can't be that bad??

Really need a turbo so looking at one of these?

Balls can't find a turbo anywhere used can't afford a new oem

The issue with eBay turbos are they poorly balanced, like very badly. Generally the parts are ok and even bad parts will be ok of balanced well but they aren't so fail.

You may need to port the turbine housing as well so in reality although they are cheap they aren't ideal and by the time you pay to get right you may as well buy a decent one!

They'll do the job, for a while at least, but when they do let go, just hope they don't take the engine with it, metal parts in your intake is never a good idea.

if its just the bearings , read everything you can and have a look on youtube , just done a year on mine , diy kit , people may laugh , but a diy 13psi tune and diy bearing change has kept me going for another year , oh , the cars at 189000 lol.

DIY rebuild is easy enough, as long as you are meticulously clean, the problem is, you can't balance it yourself.
