Hi!

I live in Portsmouth and looking for specialist garage to chance my Multitronic Gearbox Oil for the fair price!

I had a quote of £168 for the job on JKM Motor Service!

Any other ideas?

My B8 has 98k miles with only one Multitronic oil change at 38k, it seems to be running smooth but the car is new for me and I am a bit concerned!

Get it changed. I got a oil service and gearbox oil change for 260 cash. Car drives like new

Did you notice any difference shifting?

Yes a real difference. So much smoother. I only have 33k on mine and was due at 40k. Tbh I think I would just get it done every year. It was like driving a completely different car

That's interesting considering that your car is quite new!

Hopefully I'm gonna feel the same!

I was quoted 180 for the gear box from an Audi dealer. So your guy seems expensive. At that price I would goto Audi.

For an independent I msan

Don't skimp on servicing the multitronic box. The same as the DSG gearboxes oil quality is very important to the correct operation of these boxes.
If Audi will do it for £180 take it there as they will use the corect fluid. You can get it done cheaper but they may not all use the OE oil.

Sent a email to my Audi dealer to have a quote!

The independent garage that does the job for 168 is a very well reputed in Portsmouth and on internet but for the same price I would take it to Audi.

Make sure they change the filter as well. Also the gearbox needs to be cold apparently.

See if your dealer has a special rate for Audi sport members

Did you buy your car from Audi, if so your warranty maybe void as it's supposed to have an oil change every 38k. My car missed it's 38k oil change and now they won't pay for a gearbox since it's failed completely.

I thought the filter does not need to be changed and also that the oil has to be warmed up, not sure about the Gearbox needed to be cold!

On a Audi dealer do they change the filter?

Best to get it done.

I had my car serviced at Quattro-tech last week and I had to drop the car off the night before to allow the oil to cool before they replaced the oil the following day. This on an S-tronic box. Why would you not change the filter? You do when you have an engine oil change! I would get the filter changed! These boxes are expensive if they need repairing!

Not sure if the Multitronic has a filter? I have had mine changed twice by Audi main dealer and no filter mentioned.
Get it done, small money to protect yourself from expense later, I even get mine done if I an planning on selling the car, it's only fair for the next owner.

Just had my Gearbox Oil changed but can't notice much difference! He felt it smooth before already even after 60k miles with no oil changed!

Might now notice that the car is not pushing forward anymore when braking or stopping the car but need more time to be sure about that!

Did you felt that in your cars, like when you stopping in a traffic light the car does fight a bit. (Same feeling as when your brake disks are bended).

Anyway that seems to have gone!
