Air intake...Confused

Hi all.

This may look and sound stupid but im completly baffled. My A3 1.4 TFSI CAXA engine is about to have a stage 2 so im fitting an intercooler.

Ive had a look online on etuners and found the attached picture. Is it right that the air filter pipe goes to the turbo and not the intake manifold?

Yes, that is how a turbo works, by compressing the air from the intake before it gets into the cylinders via the manifold.

So all the piping in the photo is correct and thats how i need to do my piping for my intercooler?

So it should be air intake to turbo then from turbo to intercooler and then from intercooler to intake manifold/ throttle body.
