Expansion Bottle Overflow??

Hi Guys

I'm guessing that the pipe I've circled in red is the overflow as there is a little slit in the bottles collar that leads to it.

But does anyone know where it leads to as i cant see any other hoses going to the bottle.

I think coolant returns to the expansion tank through this, there is no such thing as a coolant expansion tank overflow (I don't think so), where would it go - its a pressurised system - it would empty itself in 10 minutes when warm.

Lol yeah I was thinking of the thin one at the top that would have a hose attached.

when I was refilling the coolant and accidently overfilled the expansion tank, the excess coolant ended up on the drive, by the wheel, so I would assume it just dumps it on the inner wing and gravity does its thing
