I've been getting the error code:

00856 – Radio Antenna
36-00 – Open Circuit

But now my radio reception has got really bad.

I've removed the radio and the aerial plug is in firmly.

I'm now thinking the fault could be at the other end as the rubber seal at the base doesn't look in the best of conditions.

Can you get to the nut to remove the aerials base by taking the rear internal lights out or do you need to remove some of the headlining ?

Pretty sure you can reach from inside the light but it is far easier by pulling the headlining down a bit and working from the rear of the car if you need to do anything with the wires - I think these bases are renowned for getting water in and failing. if you replace the base make sure you get the one with the right connector else you will be like me and not get MW :)

Thanks

I'll try and have a look tomorrow .

I hope it's just corrosion that I can fix without having to replace it :(
