I have a 2004 Audi A4 130 TDI and it doesn't have the driver information via the DIS i.e it shows how many miles left in the tank but you cannot change this, if I was to upgrade the stalk would that do it or do I need to plug VAG.Com in???

As I understand it, (having asked the same q a couple of years back) its not just the extra stalk controls, there are additional electronics built into the instrument cluster - you'd be looking at replacing the complete dash/dials module, and stalk, and then start the programming with vag.com.. lots of ££, lots of effort - not really worth it, as the DIS mpg figures are not exactly spot on anyway! The SE spec models had the DIS as standard, it was an option on the Sport - but not a retrofittable one, whereas the cruisecontrol and stalk is a straightforward upgrade..

Even though I've got the full DIS function I rarely use any of it and have it permanently on the range option, even if the upgrade was £50 I wouldn't bother.
