Front Grille surround plastic or metal?

Hi guys,

Got a fairly big stone chip on my front grille on the chrome looking part, does anyone know if this is metal or plastic? If it's plastic I'll just leave as it is, but if it's metal I guess I'll need to get it touched up to stop it rusting.

Plastic I believe.

At least my C6 A6 Avant and B8 A4 saloon were.

Thanks guys, saves me having to rush to get it sorted. I'd have thought plastic would have cracked or shattered, not chipped away or indented like it has.

Just glad it won't go rusty! (and that it wasn't the bonnet or windscreen it hit)
