Hey guys, I've read loads of posts about retrofitting a MFSW to the non equipped cars such as mine.

I've figured out that I have the lowline steering module and a type 2 slip ring. I haven't confirmed whether it's a C or D as yet.

I'm just wanting to check before I buy stuff that I need:

1K0-953-549-G Steering module
1K0-959-653-D Slip ring

And of course a suitable steering wheel.

I've got one from eBay, image attached hopefully!

What age is the car? I did the same thing and had to get a different airbag connector loom thingy aswell to work with mfsw

It's 2005 and the wheel I've bought is 2009. It has the airbag cable with it so hopefully I should be fine!

It was your page I was looking at originally! Great work on that stuff by the way.

Is your wheel from an a3 then? If so the wheel should be fine.
You need a highline steering module with part no 8p0953549f.
If the airbag cable isn't right then you need old part no 8p0971589Q which I think has now been superseded by one that ends in 'ap' if I remember right from doing mine.

Not sure about the slip ring though as I didn't need to change mine

Well according to the Ross Tech page I should have a type 2 slip ring at the moment, it could be part number ending C or D. I've read that D is the one that has the most capability. For the sake of a few quid I'll just get one ending D if mine doesn't already.
