Looks like I will have to change my battery as it has started to struggle to start the last couple of times. I just wondered if anyone has an 096 type fitted to their 1.8? I had an 096 fitted to the A6 and it was much bigger and higher cca rating. Is it worth me getting the 096 or sticking with the smaller 027? I remember it is a tight fit

Theres not a huge amount to be gained from fitting a massive battery. It costs more, and is heavier.
The A4 tray takes three battery sizes. 063, 075 and 096 (roughly, theres a few variants and different terminal layouts with different codes depending if its PFL or FL etc)
I dont see any point in fitting anything larger than the 075 for a 1.8T. Ours has the littleest 063 one, its been on there 5 years and sitll works fine.
