Dpf light or limp mode?

Hi folks

I going to remove the dpf on my ccwa 3.0 TDI ideally this weekend by gutting the original, does anyone know will it put the car straight into limp mode or just dpf light? I intend to have it remapped asap.but don't fancy driving round in limp mode for possibly a week

It won't go into limp mode but I suspect that you will quickly get a fault light due to there being very little pressure drop across the DPF.

With downpipe fitted on my b8 2.7tdi it did go in limp mode after ~10miles, unplugged Maf and got the power back, drove it like that for 3 days and was fine, just engine light.

Thanks for the replies lads good to know that there is something to try with the Maf if it does go into limp
