Hi All,

New A3 (2009) owner and already seeing some small annoyances can any one help?

Basically when I went to look at this car there was a light bulb warning, the dealer said it was to do with the tail light, so he MOT'ed it, all passed and said the bulb was replaced.

After a few days the bulb issue pops up again and it says Fog lights... anyway I'm gonna check tonight but it was on ok, however what wasn't on was my dipped headlights.

Turn the dial and DRL is ok, side lights = passenger side is only, dipped = passenger side only...

and I don't know if this is also coincidence but the turning right (driver side) indicator ticks-tocks quicker and flashes quicker on the dash although it seems on the outside they are flashing at normal speed.

Can anyone help?

I will try this again tonight.

If its an electrical fault I would just go back to the dealer mate.
Pointless messing about yourself, if you do anything to it the dealer may say your warranty is void etc..

Hmm, it's not a main audi dealer but he did give me 3 months free warranty on the car... I live in the kent area, do you know of any good garages to get it checked out?

Not in Kent mate but just pop back there and see what he says. It's worth doing this as if he says go to a main dealer it will be him paying for it.

ok cheers for the advise, I'll update this post once I get it fixed and tell ya'll what it was all about :/ only just bought the car too... sigh

Could be something simple mate but if you've got the warranty just be safe to use it when its there.

started the car this morning, everything is back to normal, no yellow bulb warning, all lights working, indicators tick-tocking correctly... strange!

I think I might still book it into a garage... what you reckon?

Still take it in mate. Even if it's not there now it may show up with a scan. More than likely, you will cancel appointment and the same day it will appear again. Sounds like something simple though, like maybe a loose connection somewhere.

Well I took it into EliteMotorRepairs.com who claim to be german car specialist garage... anyway diagnostics cost me £35 and he couldn't find any fault codes and he said he can't diagnose what he can't see... obviously everything is working at the moment. Anyway I did tell him about the auto gear where the top few gear lights are out and only the N onwards is lit - which seems to be temperamental as they were all lit previously . After testing this is said the lights are part of the gear selector module and as a result the whole thing needs to be replaced. Genuine parts and labour at a healthy £850!

Is this correct guys?
