New member here.
I looked all over the Internet for info on this, but couldn't find reliable info at the time. So, I thought I'd join and post my results, incase it helps anyone else.
I have a 2016 Audi S3 Prestige sedan (US model, pre facelift) that has the MMI Navigation Plus with LTE, Google Maps, and stupid MMI connector. Looks pretty much the same as the system in the 2015, etc.
Anyway, I have the lightning cable which does music/charge, but I wanted to get video input working on the monitor.
Anyway, I've read that you could use the old ipod interface cable to get video out on the old ipods (analog) and you can also get composite video input cables. Instead of picking up an 85 dollar cable, i picked up a 13 dollar cable from China on eBay.. it worked! Audi's website says it shouldn't work in the 2016 model, but it does.
I have a raspberry pi3 outputting composite video and analog audio successfully.
