Front seat tilt and slide

I know it's the wrong forum but it gets more interest.
My wife's a1 front passenger seat doesn't slide forward when you tilt it to get in the back.
Just gone in for software update so asked them to have a look quoted 576 to strip the seat we no thanks
Any ideas thanks
