hey guys, i've been having a problem with my left headlamp (facelift bixenon with AFS)

when turning on the car, the left headlamp has been taking like a second longer to light up.
and that was a little weird, so i turned off the car, and just did contact, and the headlamp did not light up.
of course the bulb out warning on the cluster came out, but then i turned the car on, and the light was up again (but the MIL stayed on).

after several tries, the problem still the same, it says the bulb is out, but it lights up (on both low and high beams).

here is the scan.

i dont know if its the problem will be with the ballast or the bulb

Clear the fault with vagcom and see what happens from there, might be a bad connection on the plug that feeds the lamp.

i did clear the error but i keeps popping up. just undid the whole headlight connector since it was easier
i'll try tomorrow cleaning the connector on the bulb, or switching it to the right side to see if the error moves to the right side.

BUT something weird also happened now, i opened the car, and the coming home/leaving home lights did not turn on :S
checked the coding on the vcds and everything was enabled :S after closing the car, the lights were working normally.

all this is really weird, i hope it is nothing

I had similar issue, it would go on/off sometimes with warning light on it's own, untill finally it gave up.
Swap the bulbs over and go from there. If the issue moves with the bulb to the other side then it's the bulb, if not probably ballast.
I found this the hard way. Sourced new bulbs and after fitting them i still got no light, so i got new ballast which is pita to change ( not that the bulbs are easier) as you need to remove the headlight, and all issues were gone. Oem bulbs are still working.
