Engine cutting out A4 2.7Tdi

Over the past 2 months my car cut out twice whilst driving with the coil light come. When I pulled over I tried to start the car but only ticked over for 3 seconds then keeps cutting out.

I waited for about 10 minutes to start up and then ran fine. I did a scan with the torque app on my phone but didn't bring any codes up.

At 1st I thought it might be the common injector problems but my car is a 2006 A4 2.7 tdi which wasn't effected.

Doing a Google search and watching YouTube, it could be the high pressure fuel pump ?

Anyone able to shed some light on this. I keep feeling the car might cut out again, somewhere that I might not be able to pull so easily.

I'm surprised that an error light came up on the dash display and yet no fault code showed on your code reader

Not all applications can fully interpret ECU DTCs.

What dongle are you using? This claims to be a high quality one which communicates with all OBD 2 protocols. I've had no issue with it in conjunction with the Carista app.
