Hi All,
I am thinking of purchasing a secondhand Audi A4 1.8 TFSI from a local dealer. The Car has 52k on the clock and is a 2010 (59) plate.
I have been doing some research and have come across what appears to be an alarming number of problems:
1. Excessive Oil Consumption caused by defective oil control rings.
2. Possible Chain and/or tensioner failure leading to valve and piston damage.
3. High Pressure Fuel Pump (HPFP) cam follower wear leading to damage on the camshaft lobe.
Can anyone who has a 1.8 tfsi confirm if all or any of the above are true and if they affect any particular year or model?
Thanks in advance
John
