Certain types of people have regular negative experiences with other road users, finding that they are more often than not on the receiving end of some vigorously delivered critique of their driving standards. They do not however understand or even recognise their faults, since the car is merely a tool used to get from one place to another, and their skills required to operate it have not evolved since they scraped a pass in the driving test. Driving is not a source of pleasure, but a stressful, uncomfortable and joyless experience.
They are however very easy to spot, since their utter indifference to all things car related. leads every single one of them to buy a Vauxhall Corsa.
To a certain extent, yes. Most of the range for as long as I can remember has been dominated by some of the dreariest, tedious , boring, poorly engineered, uninvolving heaps of ***** I've ever driven. The current Astra is a dog, the Mokka is a joke, and although I've yet to set foot in a new viva, I doubt it's going to leave me wanting more. However, when Vauxhall got involved with someone else they were and are capable of coming up with some real surprises and occasionally some inspired lunacy. I only hope that the new owners can inject a bit of life into the more boring end of their range of cars.Vauxhall - for when you've given up on life...

Lotus Carlton,
Manta 400,
Monaro,
And of course, the current rear drive lunatics that must be among the craziest cars on sale in Britain today. What's not to like about a rear drive family saloon with a 576hp corvette engine and a six speed manual?. And what builder is ferrying his cement mixer round in a 540hp Vauxhall pickup?

Barry Norman used to say that during his film reviews. Sorry for any confusion.
