After a little guidance really as it's so easy to start ticking all the boxes and end up with a car that's in for a huge whack of depreciation as a result.
Panoramic Sunroof? Is it worth it? For those of you who have it on PFL RS3's would you spec it again? If going for the black style look with black pack and privacy, I think the Pan roof really compliments the theme. Nice inside too with more natural light in the car and a good addition to have I think. There will be a slight weight, performance and fuel economy impact though, I'm sure it adds 30kg to the weight of the car.
Sports Exhaust? Again, another question to those PFL owners, do you rate it as a must have and would you rate it over the Pan Roof above? Is it that much better than the standard exhaust? I tend to tune my cars and as a result the exhaust is usually changed or modified. I actually prefer the chrome exhaust tips to the black exhaust tips (They can get lost in the lower bumper from afar) Noise wise? Now I know the exhaust pops and bangs are a new novelty for some but they can get a little irritating after a while. Case in point with this tit..
It's just shouting out loud chav to me, especially as he is coming off part throttle over and over again with no need too, it's no different to the old saxo's with drain pipe exhausts. Now I have pops and bangs in the RS6 in the same way but they aren't as pronounced and as loud as that (Thank god) Is this guy in the video running just a sports exhaust or is that a modified exhaust? Can you PFL owners tell the difference? Is your own car with sports exhaust like the car above? Or is the standard exhaust too quiet and subdued and doesn't really give you that full 5cyl roar making the Sports exhaust a must?
Comfort Pack? B&O, now I've had it now in nearly all my past Audi's and to be honest I've never been wowed by it. I've sat in the same car side beside with an Audi sound system and tried to pick up on any improvements and although the B&O does go louder without distortion it's at a level where the volume is too loud for your ears anyway and would only draw attention to you like the exhaust above. The illumination around the speakers is a nice touch though.
Advanced key, there are obviously security concerns with the key but does the key itself actually differ in any way to the standard key? Is it the old Audi black key that's been around for a while or is it a dedicated RS fob?
Hill hold assist, always had it but not sure I'd miss it, an auto car doesn't really roll back anyway
Reversing cam, can see the benefit I suppose but with rear sensors, you'd have to be pretty useless at parking to ever need the camera to avoid a collision.
Mag Ride? Had it in my old TTRS, but again, wasn't wowed by the difference it made, is it that much better in the RS3, is there a noticeable difference between a car that has it and that a car that does not? Has anyone done any back to backs? In cars that don't have it, do certain drive select modes respond to these modes by softening/firming up the suspension or is this only available through mag ride?
I'll ideally pick 2 of the 4 options above but not sure which 2 to choose, how would you rate the 4 options above, do you have all 4 options and would rate 1 over the other, preference for a certain option etc?
I could of course spec them all and just be done with it but have a figure in my mind that I don't really want to go above to keep depreciation under control.
Cheers.
