Me thinks your trip computer is telling porky pies.
The tank is 55L or 12 UK gallons. So 12x56.4 = 677 miles to a tank from an S3 I don't think so!
Try a brim-to-brim fill and reset the odometer to see what you are actually getting.
The computer on my golf Golf GTD has said 70mpg on a few occasions. Mk6 tank = 55L. So 12x70 = 840miles. Yet the most I ever got from a brim-to-brim fill was 630miles. That calculation works out at a genuine 52.5 mpg.
oops! Now the heading makes sense. You do know he's talking about his 1.4 TFSI, right?
Drove from Manchester to Sheffield other day of was chuffed to get such a high mpg. 1.4 such a great engine!
Ticking away at 1.1k RPM does use petrol. I'd say you could easily get 20 with top start and the lower idle.I think in Dynamic mode in traffic in central london looking at 10-15mpg on the S3?! Does that seem right? I
lol I thought the same, driving to Scotland in 1st gearI saw 1.4mpg and thought an S3 owner had set a new record
1.4 mpg would be hard to get without just leaving it idling
I did manage a nice 7.6mpg in the RS3 I had for a few days
