Hey everyone, I'm having a couple of concerns around a new car order I placed last Saturday. I don't think anything has actually been done from the dealership yet, it's all gone eerily quiet. If I were to cancel the order, do I forfeit the £2k deposit I've put down?? - Nothing has happened yet, so surely I'd be well within my rights to do so? - I don't want to sour things with the dealer if I stick with them, but would be good to know where I stand before I decide (or not) to pull the plug.

Thoughts?

I would check but are you not allowed 7 or 14 days to change your mind without losing deposit .
Someone more informed will be along soon to give you better advice.
A quick call to citizens advice may help .

Having done some digging of my own, if you sign in the dealership you get no cooling off period. It's basically a case of dealership discretion, but i'm knackered as far as having any leverage here. It's not the end of the world, I am still very interested, just concerned about the delays on A4/5 from the EU and whatnot
