To recap the speedo and trip counters aren't working on my car, plus fuel guage is all over the place. Also car judders at 1200-1400rpm in 2nd and 3rd. I'm assuming juddering is linked to dash playing up.
Anyway, basic diagnostic showed no fault codes at all and have had the dash tested - no faults there either - all chips are fine and the dials are working.
Car is booked in at stealers for diagnostic next week, but in the meantime......
I'm thinking it has to be wiring?
> dash works fine
> very unlikely fuel sender and the 2 speed senders would all go down at the same time
> if the senders did go down a fault code would be generated
I am thinking if the senders are fine and the dash is fine that it MUST be wiring related? Logical????
So I'm going to get a multi meter, take out the dash pod and check the voltage over all the dash plug pins i.e. between each pin and the earths there is 12v, and then I'll check the resistence on the earth cables.
The above should check out power supply issues e.g. bad connections, broken wires and shorting wires.
Suggestions/ideas????
