halford is not too bad for suitable wet based spray paints, just choose a color , and primer and finish with decent clear coat for hard wearing protection etc, if you prep well etc DIY job can be OK, but sometimes it can work out nearly as costly as getting them by a decent wheel refurber.
I experimented a few times on my spares etc and the cost does creep up to be honest.
By the time you have done 1 and like it , then buy enough paint , primer and clearcoat for the rest, then wet and dry etc and the time to do it all , is it really worth it .
I had my rims repinted by a so called pro refurber in Croydon , what a total dodgy trader, made a complete hash of them and charged me £180 for the job ( still chasing him for a refund aswell) .
Took them to a firm local to me and they did them properly and they look awesome.....and not too costly either.
Black chrome finish , looks fantastic on my black avant...bodywork paint is reflected on the rims , great effect.
