Would agree with this would make people look after their cars betterThey should charge road tax for the actual reading of the vehicle not just what the manufacturers say the emission level is.
As mentioned, there are vehicles pumping out pollution that just manage "pass" the MOT.
If what you paid yearly depended on the reading at the test, it may encourage better maintenance to keep the engine running efficiently and as cleanly as possible, especially as they get older.

I was sort of coming to that conclusion myself as i haven't yet seen many people that had got ridYou don't really need a DPF delete to get good gains.
