Nothing better on a cold and wet Monday morning for window to stay open..

The window is fully open, would go up about a inch or two, stop, then go back down.

I remember from my a3 that it runs off a cable system.

If it isn't raining on my lunch I'm going to get the door card off and have a Look.

Anyone suggest what I could find causing this issue?
Thankfully there is new cables in stock local to me in case I need them.

Not yet, I've got the whole regulator setup that Tuffty linked, but I've not had the time to do it.

can also be a problem with the cable, mine once ended up with a tiny pebble lodged in there, ended up killing the whole regulator.
Try helping it up by hand while using the button, the added force will counteract the resistance which stops the motor.

I had similar last winter. It was the clip for me to. Relatively easy to fix using the piglet guide noted above. Hint - mark the bolts before your loosen/remove them. It will make alignment up much much easier!

Pretty simple once you’ve got it all apart!

Just make sure you have torx up to t40 as there are some big ones to get the window / regulator frame off
