Could someone give me some steering knowledge?

Hi all,
I have a pretty boggo steering wheel in my 2008 3.0 tdi tiptronic A4. I would like some paddle shifters and wondered if this would fit the bill.

I know steering wheels are a bit of a mine field in terms of compatibility so was hoping someone would be able to guide me.

Well, I've taken a punt and its on its way, apparently its from a 2009 A4 so only 6 months in it for my car.

Hopefully it all works and I can enjoy some paddley goodness.

I don't know if the same applies with B8s, but when I had a multi function wheel with paddle shifters retro-fitted to my B7, it needed a new slip ring as well.

We'll, it turned up in the post today, a little grubby but some soapy water sorted that.

Took about half an hour to do the swap including the coding, works a treat! Had quite a fun day flappy paddling my way down the road.

I know people soon get bored of them but it just seems to make the car do exactly what I want it to, just a quick pull on the - paddle on the way into a corner and it leaves you able to drive through with no fear of a gear change mid corner. Marvellous!
