That's the sort of thing I'm after but no panic as my son's Polo is at home for the next few months so will carry on using that. But 1.2 60PS vs RS4 450PS.... hmmmm.

Priced mine up on audi.de configurator. At our rubbish Brexit inspired exchange rates that equates to £24k more than I am paying . Audi will definitely not be keeping prices at current levels if we allow Brexit to happen. Just saying what the pundits are! at 1.40 to the £ the height of 2014 prices are comparable.

Can't believe I got so close to pulling the trigger on the B8 haha. Saved by the Negative Equity bell I think the lady is interested in getting the 2019 A1 so I'm hoping (after what you proved) that I can haggle a nice little deal with that in mind to my favour on the RS4.

The B9 is a proper looker I was worried about noise but after bedding in the s4 I actually quite like the v6 and the rs4 is only going to be 10x better @Addict do you have sports exhaust? Lot of money but if it’s like the rs3 worth it in my eyes.

Hopefully I can make it my next car or I may be lured by a M3 comp pack car.

Prepare for a monologue!

Just watched the review. I am totally f*#*#ing blown away! Oh my days!

We have become so dependent upon journalists and launch weekends to get first impressions and feel of new cars. But even with their high end cameras, sound equipment and film crews, they simply don't capture what's important. And track testing...don't get me started on track (Autocar) reviews of fast audis.

But it takes someone like Hamza (and Tim) to just bang a camera up, get in and boot it!! This is easily the best quick review of what's important about the new RS4. I take my hat off to Tim and Hamza. I knew as soon as I seen the thumbnail it was going to be good. Tim, you drive like me mate haha. But, beauty of the RS4 is...when you want to chill out, stick it in comfort.

So, starting this thread, it was a comparison about RS cars, their progress, whether the 4 had lost its charm and the separation from S cars. Now, I'm sold. 100%. This new car is plenty loud enough, looks to have the body roll that my S4 has under control and fun. It actually looks fun.

This is my next car. I'm saving hard. It's the only car a petrolhead that needs practicality will ever need. The RS6, is more than you'll ever need. And knowing how I drive and how nimble this new 4 is, it suits me. The 6 is something I reckon you get when you've got the fast driving and great road hunting out your system and you want a car that can drive across countries and still give you that excitement through that V8 and pace. As I said a few weeks ago, I left a 6 behind in my S4 and it was so much fun. He was properly trying to chase me and we both loved it. But you cannot hide 2 tonnes on UK B roads. It really showed. Res delete or twin branch exhaust for this thing and you're gonna have an epic car.

Right. I'm done waffling but had to be said. Can't wait for next review Tim and really can't wait for my test day with the new 4 in May Enjoy your trip!

Brakes. Yes. I seen that was one of the first things you guys picked up on. My S4 brakes are a bit...spongy ya know. I guess they're more progressive than the B8.5 but you really have to step on to come to a halt. Or, just more so than would feel natural. Loving the sound now. My fears are quashed.

Got a quick cold start demo at Audi dealership today. He was taking it inside. Was rushed and the valves close after start up am I right? But the actual cold start was good. Not a brilliant spec but yup. Those arches stand out so much more in the flesh.
