and i'm looking for advice after reading through previous posts im hearing things that are kinda putting me off like to get the most out of the aftermarket kit id have to rewire a feed from the head unit to the rear speakers as the amp in the back only produces 20w as apposed to the head unit kicking out 50w ,and i might get a popping sound and or high pitched whining , i intend to get this fitted by a car audio specialist ,who i presume would have the knowledge of these possible acts of interference ,but where else better than to start at home to gain a little insight ... have i got all the necessary kit items i need for the install ? and are they correct thanks in advance for your input Noz

Do you really need the Connects2 as most well known branded and VAG are ISO to ISO .

Gazwould well this is my point I have no idea I just went on a site and they recommended that I would need the connects2 kit for my car

my b7 had double din with quad lock connector so yes a kit was required.
Unless your current oem double din has ISO , which it may well not have, you'll need a kit with the correct loom to interface with oem setup.
just pull out your current head unit and see what plug is fitted.
My old bus is full bose with quad lock ,and with a cnts2 kit and the pioneer head unit everything works great, plug and play really.

Cheers Rob I have a set of double din keys on the way as we speak so I can pull it out and look honestly though do you think I could fit this myself I have zero knowledge on this sort of thing, did you have to use the whole of the fitting kit cage and all? And what about this popping sound and high pitched Interference did you get any of that?

It is not difficult to fit, took me about an hour all in, I used pretty well most of the kit, not the packing bits as I didn't need them, but the cage and relavant bits were used , only needed the main facia plate as my pioneer came with a nicer thin trim , other wise no issues , I do recal I had to join one wire but that was it and it was I the instructions.
I think every install may be slightly different due to specific car fittments etc.
Also you wont need to code it in as would be needed with audi oem kit, thus far i'm very happy with mine, sound quality is outstanding and playing back DVD's is excellent too, Bluetooth to my IPhone 5S is spot on as is playing audio from my phone, it's a win win situation for me really.

If you have a concert 2 double din head unit it will be Quadlock.

If yours is like this then it will be quadlock , has large square block connector on the back, this is my old oem unit.

I've bought the unit as shown in my 1st post, what's the difference between the connects2 and Connects4 as they both look the same to me

I just used the connects2 , didn't see a 4 option.
