I posted a while back I was looking to replace my rear diffuser as personally I wasn't a big fan of the grey/black OEM look. Please see below for original OEM diffuser.
I posted a couple of times on the forum asking what was out there and a mate of mine noticed Rieger do rear diffusers whilst looking for a front splitter.
After investigating S3 8V diffusers for a few weeks I thought to myself, yep that is the one!
I proceeded down the route of contacting Jeff from Body-kits.co.uk, who is a pleasant man, relatively quick to respond to any questions and helped me find the correct rear diffuser for an S3 8V Sportback with OEM tailpipes.

For £200 inc vat and delivery.
It took around 10 days to arrive from Germany. I believe Body-kits import them are the main UK distributer for all Rieger parts.
Finally when it arrived I asked the same mate to help me fit this...
Here's where the fun started. NO videos on youtube to that advise how to take a rear diffuser off an 8V.
No instructions came with the diffuser. So after attempting to unclip the OEM diffuser and practically hanging off the bumper and it not budging (in freezing cold conditions) we accepted defeat for that day.
A couple of weeks later, with a Rieger sat in my garage I thought I need this on and quickly. Living in the midlands and looking around I contacted Chris from Complete Car Cosmetics in Derby.
I have to say my experience with Chris is he is a honest and a pleasure to do business with. He receives top feedback every time and I had first hand experience as to why that is.
As expected, Chris contacted me to say the bumper has to come off, the clips are just not giving way and needs to remove this. (Probably told me this due to an hours labour charge).
Chris rang me to tell me once the bumper had been taken off and tried to refit, the clips do not match up perfectly with the bumper. They then had to modify the diffuser slightly to fit it to the bumper.
I need to add for your awareness, when comparing the rieger to the OEM, there are no clips on the bottom of the reiger as there are on the OEM. They leave little hole which I assume should have little tac screws or something to hold onto. This did not come with the diffuser.
The diffuser also does not fit flush to the bumper. Unnoticeable when looking at it stood up, and even slightly when on your knees, but there is for sure a very slight gap.
However, below is the end result and finally fitted.
I have to say I am very very happy.
However, to fit the Rieger it did cost £120
So all in all, £320 to buy and fit.
Happy to share more photos if required. In person it looks the dogs b4lls!!!! I am very happy with it.
Hope you find this useful.
Like I say if you go down the Rieger route you will need:
- Take the bumper off
- The fit won't be flush
- No fittings come with the Rieger
- Have a lot of patience
- If like me, spend a lot of money to get it fitted.
