Problem with sunroof on 2013 A3

Hi all,
I'm in the process of buying a used A3, 2013 with 48,000km. Car looks good other than one specific problem: the sunroof button does not work. I did however manage to tilt it with a long press on the unlock key button.

Does anyone have any idea what could be the reason? Is it just the button or could it be the entire mechanism?

It's most likely just the button if the top so works with the key fob. You can try looking at the wires by pulling down on the center pieces in the front. Maybe dirty connection. If not search eBay, should be a simple fix.

Also first check fuses just in case, however, that shouldn't be it since the roof still works.

If it’s from any sort of car dealer, can’t you ask them to fix it before you buy. Actually, even if a private sale you could try.
