Had my car investigated for clunky gear changes at low speed this is what Audi did under warranty including a TPI number for anyone else having a similar issue....

investigate noise from gearbox

Carried out road test, checked transmission operation for noises and poor gear change. Gearbox operates okay with no irregular noises. found tpi 2049637/5 Changed gear oil as per Elsa instructions. Carried out additional procedure as per tpi. Tested all okay.

Mine (manual 6 speed) has had clunky/crunchy gear changes in 2nd and 4th since I got it at 9000 miles.

Been in to dealer several times. They have adjusted the linkages twice and now it's affecting 1st and 3rd too but 2nd is still the worst. They have never changed the oil but not sure that would help anyway. I am now noticing an intermittent shudder in first gear.

It's just been in again and they say it is fine. No fault found.

What's the TPI number significance?

It also has a flickery mmi and dash and an intermittently sticking handbrake.

In the year and a half I have had the car, and several visits to the dealer, not one fault has been fixed.

sorry should of said mine is a 6 speed automatic DSG specially a DQ400e .

The TPI is a service document that tells the dealer what to do to resolve a specific issue I believe
