I've recently acquired an a3 1.8t quattro, so far I'm in love, it's my dad's old car and I grew up loving it, he's modded it with the following; ko4 turbo, forge dump valve, s3 injectors, unbranded cone air filter, front mounted intercooler, down pipe, decat, custom exhaust and a bigger brake set. He also got it tuned, the problem I'm having and he also had before he got his new car was that it's not boosting properly and not too sure why, I think it has something to do with the tuner who remapped it as he turned out to be a cowboy and done a botched job. Other that I also need some advice on where to take it to get a proper tune done by a specialist.
Sorry for the life story, any help will be greatly appreciated.

Best advice would be to get it scanned with VCDS, see if there are any fault codes bud. Also check for any air leaks.

why on earth did your dad give you his pride and joy? he must love you dearly..

Devon is such a cool name, I wanted to call my son Devon (like the guy from knight rider) but was overruled by my wife and he was called Harvey (from Sabrina the teenager witch) but I got the middle name "Austin" from Austin Danger Powers.

Location Birmingham?

BADGER5 - Gloucester <-- forum's favourite and absolute expert in 1.8T 20v custom tuning and builds.
RTECH - is what 15 minutes away? I think they do custom tuning and are well known.

UNICORN - is closer than AWESOME GTI and I have seen some forum folk with maps from them.
AWESOMEGTI -
They might actually put on APR generic maps for the 20v? but have a good reseller and performance parts reputation I just bought R8 coils and adapters from them delivered next day.
but location is Manchester (maybe 2 hours up the M6 or 40 minutes toll road?)

I would personally avoid Revo / APR Re-sellers like TTSHOP in BEDFORD - they are well known maps but I think they are generic - with your list of modifications you need an expert to perform a health check and custom map to suit your exact components.

best of luck, your dad must have a special new car to give up this one.
