Hi all,

Just wondering if there is a way to check the wear on the clutch packs on a DSG box in my 2010 S4 (yes I know... the troublesome year lol)
It had the mech unit repaired at Audi a few months back and all was fine for a few weeks, then it gradually started to get lurchy and jumpy between the gears, especially if you didn’t come to a complete stop, it would shoot forward when you pressed the throttle as if you flung the clutch pedal out too fast. It’s like being in the car with someone with poor clutch control, and if you floor it sometimes it like as if it double declutches? I sent it to Milta in bristol (DSG specialist) and they said they couldn’t find anything wrong with it, so I had the car back and it was perfect again for a couple of weeks until it started to come back again, so I did a bit of an experiment and had a local vag com guru come out and reset the clutch adaptations in the box, and lo and behold it’s spot on again for a few weeks then comes back once the clutch has bedded back in, so I think it’s pointing towards a faulty/damaged clutch pack?! Does this sound possible to you? Or is it still a mech fault? I just want a bit of advice before I send it back to Milta armed with my theory, as it cost me 300 quid last time to get it sent there on a truck as I’m miles away from there, don’t want another wasted journey.
Cheers!
