Tuesday 6pm after work, was getting back to the car to see rear offside corner scuffed. First thought: "b@stard".
No note left, no witnesses.
However, I work for CCTV equipment distributor so there are cameras outside the building, including couple of ANPR's.
Searched through the footage and found the incident, car and number plate. Got all screen shots and footage secured. What to do next?
Checked the reg on gov.uk. Vehicle is MOT'd and TAXed. Run the reg on MID and it comes back as NOT insured. Thought: "BANG! Got you, you #@#@£@"!
Reported it to MET online and got the response within the hour. Coppers are not interested, as it is a minor damage and they didn't cought the car being actually driven.
No further action taken, only advice given to request owner/keeper info from DVLA.
Dvla web page said, I can request it via email and that is what I did.
Reply came today morning, they do not accept requests via email and I have to do postal order for £2.50! and send them the hand written form via recorded post. C'mon!
Damage is cosmetic and probbably can polish it off. It is on rear offside wheel arch, bumper and two spokes on the alloy scuffed.
Wheel is already curbbed so not bothered that much but paint.
My car is neglected in wash since aitp and is filthy. This is literally Biblical filth on it and in it. No time to wash or hoover.
Thought of washing it over the weekend and inspect the scuffed area.
Going to request info from dvla as they want and hope the guy is local to confront him or write to to him, if he"s details will be released to me.
Till then, car stays filthy
My car was parked across the road of my work place and the driver of that vehicle was allowing oncoming car to pass by and didn't realised how close he was to my car scraped it. He tried to swerve off but it wass too late. Damage was done so he andntinue to drive like nothing has ever happened.
ANPR camera on the system has confirmed the vehicle passing by couple of times at various of times in the day.
Also, he passed by today but before midday and would not be able to stop him.
Pictures confirm female passenger sitting next to the driver so i suspect her hubby also had a gray hair and forgotten he's glasses that day or skipped the appointment at Specsavers.
I will find hunt him!
