so the A6 bitdi 313 has been running nicely, few thousand miles now, 46mpg so no complaints.

But, after a few miles at motorway speeds, 70ish, when I slow back down for roadworks say 50, it drops down another gear and holds it there. Normally in E7 at 50 but it holds E6.

If I now pull off the motorway I notice the manual option doesn’t work, exhaust noise generator is on (booms a bit) and holds gears too long, like it’s in S mode.

If I stay on the motorway and get to speed back up, after a while it stops and goes back to normal, no faults. Same if I turn it off, most of the time it stops it..

No faults, but does smell a bit hot. Temp gauge normal. What’s people’s opinion? Is it doing a regen? Under Audi warranty so in two minds wether to book it in. On a run up to Scotland it did it on the way up, just after setting out and that was it.

If it's under warranty I'd book it in, better safe than sorry.

Sounds to me like dpf is regen. Mine holds 4th at 30mph when usually it's 5th. And exhaust is also louder when in regen
