Are they all the same?

Front to back differ I guess because of the child lock.

Reason for asking is I bought one on eBay from a 2012 model and mine is an 2009 but the child lock switch is in a different place. Just want to know if it'll work before I strip it all down!!

So it would appear what I have purchased is the lock.

What is it that actually fails when you can't open the door off the key?
