BKE engine rattle

Hi guys,

Noobie here, There's a loud rattle coming from my audi engine, it's an 06 BKE engine with around 150k miles, I thought it was the cam chain tensioner but the BKE is a single cam, any help would be greatly appreciated thanks

Could it be your aircon pulley? I’ve an 05 bke with knocking and rattling and when I stopped engine got my arm underneath auxiliary belt side and felt for play on the pulley wheel I was able to move it an inch or so like a dj scratching . What causes this is the rubber blocks were break up causing gaps which causes the knocking worth a try
