2.0 brd egr valve

Hi all, the egr on my 2.0 170 (brd) has started making a horrid grating sound. Would I be right in guessing its stripped the teeth on the cogs for the movement?
Suppose that means a new one?

Sounds like. Take it off then you can remove the plastic cover and have a look. Easy to remove and replace.
About 150 quid if you need a new one

Seems to have stopped the noise now, guess its worn the teeth right off :/
though theres still a gushing sound for a second after I turn the engine off.
Cant decide whether to replace it or delete it. Anyone recommend a mapper in the south east?

i would get it deleted i had the same problem ..but didnt buy a genuine audi 1 got it from ebay 3 month down the line same problem so got another 1 jesus 5 months later it knacked up....so wasted £270 on 2 egr valves the sellers never responded to me it cost me £280 to get delete and mapped never had problem since no smoke no engine warning light or limp mode....
