s3 Brake pads (ferodo)

Gents,

Doing my head in, i know the answer is to take them appart but i dont fancy doing the job twice if someone has been throough this previously. 2009 s3 which are the correct front pads, it looks to me that everyone fits the 1765H, deamon tweaks say its 4223H and looking at the dimensions i agree. ive been out and measure my disc and theres near as damit 65/66mm surface depth for the pad to sit against. so why is evryone fitting the 56mm depth pad? i relaise you will get bo lip on the disc but you will get a boat load more (ok not a boat load but some) extra free braking force?

All I can add to this is that last week, I fitted a new set of Brembo TTS discs with Golf 6 R callipers onto a TT. I used the standard Brembo pads from ECP for a TTS / S3 /Golf6R and the combination left a gap at the inside edge of the disc. No gap at the outside though. See if you can get the measurements for the standard TTS Brembo pads and compare with what you are proposing.

Oe pads for your car are 8J0 698 151 F.
The ferodo equivalent is FDB4223, so you've ordered the correct pads.
